I have been informed that the superdrewby mail server has a few issues at the moment but they should be fixed int he next few hours. If you are trying to send me mail or send mail in general it will not get through for the next few hours but will all be fixed!
Over the weekend the 25th Mardi Gras Parade and party was held in Sydney, and as usual the boy and I attended the party and danced into Sunday morning when the sun was well and truly shining.
This year's Mardi Gras was under a cloud of doubt due to the collapse, late last year of the original "Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardia Gras" organisation with more than $500,000 debt. The organisation was ressurected as the Sydney Mardi Gras (they dropped the Gay & Lesbian).
Many arguments and discussions have taken place in the last six months over the meaning and the future of Mardi Gras. With many members of the community voicing their opinion that the whole organisation had lost it's focus and had become too commercial. But in the end the organisation decided to take the festival, parade and party back to its roots.
All events this year were managed carefully so that they would either pay for themselves or make some money for the organisation.
